Pandemic Escape: Los Boyz Invade Catalina Island

We were in the thick of the Covid pandemic, stuck inside, wearing masks, streaming Tiger King, basically feeling claustrophobic. Los Boyz were looking for some relief. Got it! A camping trip to Two Harbors on Catalina Island. Like car camping but by boat. We loaded up our gear, BBQ, coolers and everything else we could possibly need and more, hopped on the Catalina Express in full masks and across the channel we went. The plan was to Camp at Two Harbors and then revisit our old Boy Scout camp at Emerald Bay and make it to the Parsons Landing on the North end of the island. Our hike to Emerald Bay brought back lots of memories for all 3 of us - we are still debating the who was in the best troop, 223 or 69?! The next day, a good bike ride got us to Parsons Landing. We executed the trip to perfection with a couple of hiccups –  somehow Eric managed to fall out of the campsite and into a ravine thanks to a heavy dose of beer and scotch and our return to the mainland was delayed by a massive wind storm. But all-in-all the trip provided some good pandemic stress relief. A Los Boyz island invasion of the highest caliber!
