2006 Jennie Lakes Wilderness: A Sequoia Adventure
In 2006, Los Boyz decided it was time to check out Sequoia National Park, being just about four hours from LA. You can’t beat a trip through those massive, awe-inspiring trees, so the OG trio packed up and hit the Jennie Lakes Wilderness for a rugged adventure. Back then, we were all about gourmet meals, even if it meant lugging around extra weight. Our go-to first-night feast of sausage with onions and bell peppers probably made an appearance, followed by an unknown breakfast that I’m sure was equally delicious.
We didn’t mind carrying the extra load, unlike today, where we’ve got the“eat right and light” philosophy. We now make our own food so we can control the quality and weight, but back then, it was all about the flavors. As for the trip itself, I remember a little snow, plenty of good food, and an over all great time. Nearly 20 years later, it may be about time for a return to those Sequoia giants!
