Maggie Lakes: Escaping the Madness of 2020
Back in 2020, we were all feeling the weight of COVID—working from home, staying inside, wearing masks—it was suffocating. Los Boyz knew exactly what we needed: a backpacking trip. The one place we could escape the virus? The great outdoors.
We kicked things off with a night of car camping at Redwood Meadow, right near the Trail of 100 Giants. But the next day, the hike turned out to be a bit tougher than expected. The trailhead to Maggie Lake was about 11 miles, and it definitely tested us. But once we made it, the view was worth every step. We set up camp, cracked open some scotch, and kicked back while planning a day hike for the following day.
Of course, in true Los Boyz fashion, the adventure didn’t end there. On the way out, we hit a bit of a snag—a flat tire on the dirt road back to the trailhead. Naturally, all of Los Boyz chipped in to fix it… yeah, right.
